Ultimate Asian Flank Steak Marinade
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 pounds flank steak
Instructions:
Stir the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes together in a bowl
Put the flank steak in a shallow dish or a plastic bag that can be closed again, and pour half of the marinade over it
Save the rest of the marinade for another time
Put the dish or bag in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or better yet, overnight, for better flavor
Warm up the grill over medium-high heat
Take the flank steak out of the marinade and throw away the marinade
For medium-rare, grill the steak for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, but you can change the time to suit your taste
For extra flavor, baste the steak with the marinade you saved in the last few minutes of cooking
After taking the steak off the grill, let it rest for 5 minutes
Then, cut it across the grain
Feel free to serve the sliced steak with your favorite sides
