Mosaic Sushi

Mosaic sushi is a creative twist on traditional sushi, where colorful ingredients are arranged in artistic patterns to create visually stunning rolls. It's not only delicious but also a feast for the eyes!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Nori sheets
  • Assorted sushi-grade fish salmon, tuna, yellowtail, etc
  • Assorted vegetables cucumber, avocado, carrot, etc
  • Soy sauce, for serving
  • Wasabi, for serving
  • Pickled ginger, for serving

Instructions:

Run cold water over the sushi rice until the water is clear

Put sushi rice and water in a rice cooker

Follow the directions that come with the rice cooker

Melt the sugar, salt, and rice vinegar in a small saucepan over low heat

Wait for it to cool down

Move the rice to a big bowl after it's done cooking

Slowly pour the vinegar mixture over the rice while stirring it gently to cover every grain

Wait until the rice is cool enough to touch

Cut the fish and vegetables into thin strips to make the sushi fillings

On a bamboo sushi mat, put a piece of nori

Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, making sure to leave a little space around the edges

For a mosaic look, arrange the sushi fillings on top of the rice

Start rolling the sushi tightly on the bamboo mat from the edge that is closest to you

As you roll the sushi, use light pressure to keep its shape

With a sharp knife, cut the sushi roll into small pieces that are easy to eat

Put soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side of the mosaic sushi
